advance, progress, proceed, move on, go

這些動(dòng)詞均含“前進(jìn)，行進(jìn)，進(jìn)展”之意。

1. advance ：主要用于具體的人或物，也可指科學(xué)技術(shù)和運(yùn)動(dòng)等。

eg: I signed to him to keep away, but he continued to advance.（我示意他離開(kāi), 但他還是繼續(xù)往前走。）

?? ? ?She advanced greatly in her knowledge.（她在學(xué)識(shí)上大有長(zhǎng)進(jìn)。）

2. progress ：指按某一既定目標(biāo)前進(jìn)，取得發(fā)展，目的性很明確，強(qiáng)調(diào)經(jīng)常和穩(wěn)定地前進(jìn)。

eg: Our progress was embarrassed by lots of baggage.（大量的行李使我們行進(jìn)困難。）

?? ? ?During these years the labour movement of the United States has made great progress.（這些年來(lái), 美國(guó)的工人運(yùn)動(dòng)已取得巨大的進(jìn)展。）

3. proceed ：側(cè)重指繼續(xù)前進(jìn)。

eg: They will proceed to build another laboratory building.（他們將著手建造另一座實(shí)驗(yàn)大樓。）

?? ? ?The trial is proceeding.（審問(wèn)正在進(jìn)行。）

4. move on ：非正式用語(yǔ)，側(cè)重從某一停止點(diǎn)向某地前進(jìn)，但不表示前進(jìn)的目的地。

eg: We talked about these for a while and then moved on to another house.（我們談了一會(huì)兒之后, 就前往另一家去了。）

5. go ：最常用詞，含義寬泛而不確切，依上文確定其具體意思。

eg: Everything went pretty smoothly.（一切進(jìn)展相當(dāng)順利。）
