assert, affirm, allege, maintain, testify, claim

這些動詞均含有“斷言，聲稱”之意。

：主觀意味強，指自認為某事就是如此，而不管事實如何。

例如：He asserted his ideas loudly and clearly. （他大聲明確地說出自己的想法。）

：側重在作出斷言時表現(xiàn)出的堅定與不可動搖的態(tài)度。

例如：They affirmed that the girls did quite a bit of reading.（他們斷言這些女孩子讀了不少書。）

：多指無真憑實據，不提供證據的斷言或宣稱。

例如：The newspaper alleged the mayor's corrupt practices.（那家報紙斷言市長有舞弊行為。）

in：與assert近義，但前者指堅決維護某種主張或觀點。

例如：She maintains that the accusation is groundless.（她堅持該指控是毫無根據的。）

y ：多指在法庭作證，莊嚴地宣稱自己所說屬實。

例如：The fingerprint expert was asked to testify at the trial.（指紋專家應邀出庭作證。）

：可與assert換用，但語氣弱一些，側重指行為自己的權利提出要求他人承認。

例如：A small terrorist group has claimed responsibility for the bombing in London.（一小撮恐怖分子已經聲稱倫敦的爆炸事件是他們干的。）
