at last, at length, eventually, finally, in the end, lastly

這些詞或詞組均含有“最后，終于”之意。

last ：多指經(jīng)主觀努力，克服各種困難后才終于達(dá)到目的。

例如：At last she interrupted abruptly what he was saying.（最后她粗暴地打斷了他的話。）

length ：強(qiáng)調(diào)經(jīng)歷一段長時(shí)間后終于完成，側(cè)重在時(shí)間部分。

例如：At length the young lady raised her head and looked steadily at his intelligent face.（那個(gè)年輕婦女終于抬起頭, 目不轉(zhuǎn)睛地盯著他心領(lǐng)神會(huì)的臉。）

ally ：側(cè)重于動(dòng)作或行為的結(jié)果。

例如：He hated his stepfather and eventually ran away from home.（他恨他的繼父, 最終從家中逃走了。）

y ：常與at last換用，都可用于對(duì)往事的描述，但finally不帶感情色彩，指一系列事情的最后結(jié)局。

例如：After putting it off three times, we finally managed to have a holiday in Greece.（推遲了三次度假之后，我們終于在希臘度了假。）

the end：與at last同義，但in the end不僅可指“過去”還可表示對(duì)“未來”的預(yù)計(jì)。

例如：In the end, we stay at home and look after everything.（最后，我們還是呆在家里照看著一切。）

：指連續(xù)順序的最后，通常用在列舉事情的場合。

例如：Lastly, I must say I owe all the achievements to the encouragement and help from my colleagues and friends.（最后,我必須說我的這些成就都應(yīng)歸功于我的同事和朋友們的鼓勵(lì)和幫助。）
