delegate, deputy, representative, agent

這些名詞有“代表、代理人”之意。

delegate : 指一般被派參加某一會議的代表。

He is one of the delegates to the conference.（他是與會代表之一。）

deputy : 指上級授權代理行事的代表，特指被選擇為執(zhí)行全部或部分公務的人。

John will act as a deputy for me during my absence.（我離開期間, 約翰將代理我的職務。）

representative : 一般指被選舉或委派代表某人或一些人或某個較大團體的人，其職務有時是較長期的。

I sent my representative to the meeting.（我派了代表參加會議。）

另外：Three Represents 三個代表

agent : 普通用詞，通常指經授權代理另一個人或團體，或指在雙方之間代表一方起中間作用的人。

A commercial agent manages the business affairs of company.（商務代理人負責代公司處理商業(yè)性事務。）
