grin通常有兩個(gè)用意，一是“露齒而笑”，二是“強(qiáng)顏歡笑”。如：
He must have been pleased, he was grinning from ear to ear.
他一定很高興，笑得嘴都合不攏了。

政治家

常看見有童鞋混用politician和statesman的，但其實(shí)它們不同，用的時(shí)候以下幾點(diǎn)是要加以注意的哦。

（1）以前在英國(guó)politician有時(shí)是“政治家”，有時(shí)是“政治陰謀家”。

（2）現(xiàn)在在英國(guó)politician和statesman都是“政治家”，但略有不同：politician著重在于才能，statesman著重在權(quán)勢(shì)。

（3）在美國(guó)politician通常是“政客”，往往有“政治陰謀家”的意味。但在“政界人物”中間用politician往往指“（從事于政治而并非從事于其他事的）政治家”。

（4）在美國(guó)statesman是“（有才能，有遠(yuǎn)見，為國(guó)為民的）政治家”。但有時(shí)指任何“政界人物”。

bound to

在bound后面接不定式的用法，通?？勺鳌耙欢▽?，必然的；注定了的”解，如：

It is bound to rain.

肯定會(huì)下雨。

He’s bound to refuse.

他一定會(huì)拒絕。

烏煙瘴氣

比喻空氣污濁、秩序混亂或社會(huì)黑暗、風(fēng)氣不正。除了譯文中的heavy pollution外，我們還可根據(jù)各種語境用不同的方式表達(dá)出來。如“搞得烏煙瘴氣”就可以有以下的表達(dá)方式：create a bad atmosphere; foul things up; make a mess of; create bad feeling。
