Apple has announced that it will host an event on Tuesday, October 4.

The invitations offer only the date (October 4) and the time (10 o'clock), as well as a phone icon marked with a
curious number "1."

Last week, AllThingsD first reported (at the time, unofficially) that Apple would hold an event on October 4, but no one knew for sure if the event would center around the iPhone. Now we can say for sure that it will, but we still don't know if this event will see the launch of the company's next-generation handset, referred to as the "iPhone 5."

邀請(qǐng)函主要由四幅圖片組成：第一幅代表將于10月4日星期二發(fā)布下一代iPhone；第二幅說(shuō)明時(shí)間是10點(diǎn)鐘；第三幅說(shuō)明發(fā)布會(huì)在蘋果加州總部召開(kāi)，并給出方位圖；第四幅是一個(gè)電話的圖標(biāo)右上角打上一個(gè)紅色的“1”，或代表一種新的模式（目前無(wú)法確定）。

此前還有消息稱，新一代iPhone采用雙核A5處理器、1GB RAM、800萬(wàn)像素?cái)z像頭，支持“助理”語(yǔ)音導(dǎo)航功能和Nuance語(yǔ)音轉(zhuǎn)文本技術(shù)等。還有業(yè)內(nèi)人士猜測(cè)，蘋果還可能發(fā)布廉價(jià)版iPhone。
另?yè)?jù)日本博客網(wǎng)站Macotakara援引知情人士的消息稱，iPhone 5 10月14日將在美國(guó)、法國(guó)、德國(guó)、日本和英國(guó)這5個(gè)國(guó)家首發(fā)。
