1.?common?decency

decency有正派；正經(jīng)的意思，正義感就可以說a sense of decency。

而復(fù)數(shù)的the decencies則表示“規(guī)矩；禮儀；行為準(zhǔn)則”：

再補(bǔ)充一個(gè)和common相關(guān)的實(shí)用表達(dá)，常識(shí)的英語(yǔ)是“common knowledge”：

2.?glimpse

a glimpse of表示“一瞥”，來看一下它的衍生含義，“短暫的感受（或領(lǐng)會(huì)）”：

This biography offers a few glimpses of his life before he became famous.
這部傳記展示了他成名前的一些生活情況。

瞥一眼還可以用“glance”：

He glanced up from his book as I passed.

3.?down the drain

drain作名詞的意思是“排水管，下水道；下水井”，也可以形容“使人疲倦的事物”，down the drain表示“打水漂，付諸東流”。

drain作動(dòng)詞表示“消耗”，drain (sth) away這個(gè)短語(yǔ)就形容“（使）徹底消失；（使）流失”。

Stretching out her tired limbs, she felt the tensions of the day drain away.
伸展一下疲憊的四肢，她覺得白天的壓力也都隨之消散了。
