1. pass the time

關(guān)于pass，時間過得特別快可以說“Time passes so quickly”，而打發(fā)時間可以說pass the time。

When Paula was ill, I took her some magazines to help her pass the time.
葆拉生病時，我給她帶去一些雜志幫她消磨時間。

2. no time to lose

用這個短語催促別人，意思是“沒時間耽擱”。

Come on, there's no time to lose, we have to get home before John finds out.
趕快，沒有時間耽擱了，我們必須在約翰發(fā)現(xiàn)之前趕到家。

還可以說，time is of the essence。意思是“時間是關(guān)鍵，時間很寶貴”。

這里的time是（可以用來做某事的）時間，理解為足夠的時間或者是額外的時間，比如：

我們知道，have someone on your side是有人是跟你站在同一邊的，也就是被支持的意思，所以have time on your side 表示時間是跟你站在同一邊，表示（某人）有充裕的時間。也可以說time is on sb's side。另外，have time on your hands等于to have nothing to do，意思是無事可做。
