人生難得認真一回……有時候別人以為你是開玩笑的時候，是不是特別想無奈地吼一句：我是認真的！今天，我們來學習用英語說“認真”。

① We're all just trying to do our jobs here.
我們都只不過各盡其責罷了。

do one's job 完成任務，盡職。Job除了工作的意思之外，還可以表示職責，任務，事情。比如：It's your job to be on time.（準時是你應該做到的事。）

② I'm dead serious.
我是認真的！

Dead此處為副詞，表示非常，很，是英式口語。It's dead easy.（這太容易了。）

③ We gotta be real careful here.
我們必須非常小心。

gotta是got to 的連讀后的寫法，have got to必須，非得，而have經(jīng)常省略，可以直接說：You got to come.（你必須來。）

④ Let's bring it down to earth.
我們還是實際點吧。

bring sb. down/back to earth意思是讓某人回到現(xiàn)實中來，從幻想中清醒過來。有一個形容詞down-to-earth，意思是現(xiàn)實的，務實的，譬如solve down-to-earth problems（解決實際問題）。

⑤ I'm not playing games.
我沒有開玩笑。

play games 鬧著玩，不認真對待。請看例句：All she ever does is playing games.（她只會瞎胡鬧。）
