英語(yǔ)里有關(guān)“仇”有很多詞。
avenge一般作動(dòng)詞，指替…報(bào)仇。比如She avenged her mother's death upon the murderer. 她懲處了兇手, 為母親報(bào)了仇。1998年Uma Thurman、Ralph Fiennes和Sean Connery　主演的電影《復(fù)仇者》就叫The Avenger.
revenge一般做名詞居多，指復(fù)仇報(bào)仇。比如2005年的《星球大戰(zhàn)前傳》叫Star Wars: Episode III - Revenge of the Sith。
vengeance 也指報(bào)復(fù)報(bào)仇，用的較少，而是以短語(yǔ)形式with a vengeance出現(xiàn)居多。with a vengeance是副詞短語(yǔ)，指To an extreme degree, with greater force。比如電影《虎膽龍威》(Die Hard)的第三集的片名就叫Die Hard: With A Vengeance.再比如December has turned cold with a vengeance. 十二月已經(jīng)是透骨寒冷了。另有諺語(yǔ)Heaven's vengeance is slow but sure. 天網(wǎng)恢恢, 疏而不漏。
retaliation指報(bào)復(fù)，但往往強(qiáng)調(diào)以惡制惡，以不好的類似的舉動(dòng)回敬對(duì)方。比如軍事上有一種打擊叫做報(bào)復(fù)性打擊，英文就是retaliation.
retribution該詞側(cè)重償還這個(gè)概念，很多情況下指宗教上的來(lái)世報(bào)應(yīng)：一個(gè)人在來(lái)世生活中，根據(jù)他在今世的所作所為所得到的懲罰或獎(jiǎng)賞。
vendetta側(cè)重族間血仇，即blood feud，比如羅密歐與朱麗葉各自的蒙太古與凱普萊特家族之間的血仇。2005年的電影《V字仇殺隊(duì)》的英文名字就叫V for Vendetta.

blind spot盲點(diǎn)，原指視網(wǎng)膜上視覺(jué)纖維匯聚向視覺(jué)中樞傳遞的出眼球部位,無(wú)感光細(xì)胞,故視野上呈現(xiàn)為固有的暗區(qū),稱生理盲點(diǎn)，專業(yè)術(shù)語(yǔ)叫scotoma。后來(lái)If you say that someone has a blind spot about something, you mean that they seem to be unable to understand it or to see how important it is.比如 The Prime Minister has a blind spot about ethical issues.
