The announcement was made Monday afternoon via press release. “The Newsroom is classic Aaron Sorkin – smart, riveting and thought-provoking,” said Michael Lombardo, president, HBO Programming. “I’m sure this farewell season will be one to remember.”

Rumors about The Newsroom’s season 3 renewal started last September when lead star Jeff Daniels said it was official, but HBO quickly denied the tweet held water. Until today we didn’t know that the channel was considering making the third outing the show’s last.
《新聞編輯室》第三季預(yù)定的傳言去年九月就傳開(kāi)了，當(dāng)時(shí)主演杰夫-丹尼爾在官方推特上公開(kāi)宣布第三季獲得預(yù)訂，但是HBO很快就否認(rèn)了這一消息。不過(guò)我們是知道今年才知道第三季是最后一季。

Season 3 will premiere in the fall (the first two seasons aired during the summer), and production will begin this spring.
第三季會(huì)在今年秋季播出（前兩季是在夏季播出），會(huì)在今春開(kāi)始制作。

HBO announced last week that Boardwalk Empire will be coming to a close after season 5 airs this year. We also know that True Blood season 7 is the show’s last.
