《銀河護(hù)衛(wèi)隊(duì)2》講述銀護(hù)正受雇于大祭司阿耶莎去保護(hù)她治下的至高星人，這是一個(gè)全身金色的人類種族。作為回報(bào)，阿耶莎將他們的囚犯星云送給了銀河護(hù)衛(wèi)隊(duì)。然而關(guān)鍵時(shí)刻火箭浣熊玩起雙面間諜的游戲，背地里竊走至高星的能量電池，致使阿耶莎發(fā)動(dòng)全軍追殺銀河護(hù)衛(wèi)隊(duì)，英雄們?cè)谏衩厝宋镆粮甑膸椭麦@險(xiǎn)逃生，而伊戈正是星爵的親生父親，于是星爵、卡魔拉與毀滅者就追隨伊戈和他的伙伴螳螂前往他的家園。星爵漸漸意識(shí)到伊戈并不是他期待中的父親模樣，在勇度、星云與螳螂的幫助下，銀河護(hù)衛(wèi)隊(duì)將一面抵擋阿耶莎的追殺，一面阻止伊戈實(shí)現(xiàn)他宣稱的宿命大業(yè)。
