Thirteen dance pieces from foreign countries are being featured at the ongoing Beijing Dance Festival. The headline show is "Open Source", performed by Maria Kong Dancers Company from Israel. The dancers are bringing the sensual moves of the Middle East to the Middle Kingdom.

"Open Source", choreographed by 33-year-old dancer Talia Landa combines dance and drama. The erotic performance is considered the most anticipated piece on bill of the Beijing Dance Festival.

It tells the story of a woman’s wedding night. It’s about the split second when, moments before giving herself, she looks in the mirror and all her deepest fears, fantasies and most hidden desires reveal themselves. Although it tells about the fine line between virginal naivety and carnal desire, the choreographer, who’s still single, says the piece is about every crossroad of a decisive moment.

"Open Source" is only one of thirteen foreign dance pieces at Beijing Dance Festival. Others include "Macbeth" from Germany, a dance take on the Shakespearian tragedy, and "Blinded Mind", a surreal piece about an individual swimming against the stream which is visually stunning.

In addition, there will be nearly 60 pieces from the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong.

Besides the opening show "All River Red and Treading on Grass" from the Beijing LDTX, there is an acclaimed collaboration between the Hong Kong City Comtemporary Dance Company and celebrated Norwegian choreographer Ina Johannessen. "The Wild Duck" is inspired by Henrik Ibsen’s modern drama classic of the same name.

Audiences are spoilt for choice by the range of festival performances held at the PLA Theater and the Star Theater up until Friday. The packed program and enthusiastic crowds testify to the growing popularity among Chinese audiences of this particular art form, known for its avant-guard character and individuality.

塔里亞·蘭達(dá)，生于以色列。四歲時(shí)，師從澤哈瓦·貝拉克學(xué)習(xí)舞蹈，隨后在多個(gè)舞蹈教育機(jī)構(gòu)和舞團(tuán)深造，如馬坦文化與藝術(shù)項(xiàng)目（1998），瑞娜·斯克內(nèi)費(fèi)德舞團(tuán)（1998-1999），巴希瓦現(xiàn)代舞團(tuán)二團(tuán)（1999-2003），巴希瓦現(xiàn)代舞團(tuán)（2003-2008）。2008年，塔里亞·蘭達(dá)與另外三位藝術(shù)家一起創(chuàng)辦了瑪利金剛舞蹈團(tuán)。

她的個(gè)人作品有《蒙娜麗莎·鈴木》等，為瑪利金剛舞蹈團(tuán)聯(lián)合創(chuàng)編的作品包括《甩》《小姐》和《納米》。

瑪利金剛舞蹈團(tuán)于2008年在以色列成立。四位建團(tuán)成員曾一起供職于以色列首屈一指的巴希瓦現(xiàn)代舞團(tuán)。他們理念相同，于是自組舞團(tuán)。舞團(tuán)作品充分體現(xiàn)各成員思考觀(guān)點(diǎn)、創(chuàng)意、交流，和緊密的團(tuán)隊(duì)合作精神。

跨藝術(shù)媒介合作是瑪利金剛舞蹈團(tuán)一大特色。舞團(tuán)定期舉辦名為“我的房子，他的家”跨界藝術(shù)之夜活動(dòng)，為藝術(shù)家們提供平臺(tái)，進(jìn)行思想碰撞。參予活動(dòng)的有畫(huà)家、雕刻家、設(shè)計(jì)師、視覺(jué)藝術(shù)家、演員、舞者、行為藝術(shù)家等。舞團(tuán)現(xiàn)有五位全職編演成員，以及不用領(lǐng)域的合作藝術(shù)家。
