要對(duì)一些固定搭配及用詞選擇稍加注意，就可以熟練掌握材料。 時(shí)政名詞 the [wv]Eradication[/wv] of Poverty 消除貧窮 self-sufficiency 自給自足 the Millennium Development Goals Summit 千年發(fā)展目標(biāo)首腦會(huì)議 fiscal [wv]austerity[/wv] 財(cái)政緊縮政策 慣用句及用詞分析 The global economic crisis has further pushed an estimated 64 million into poverty and unemployment is up by more than 30 million since 2007. 注：這句中push…into poverty是個(gè)很形象的表達(dá)，做中譯英時(shí)可以借用來(lái)替換cause。后半句中的be up by表達(dá)的是“增加了……人”，注意和“增至……人”區(qū)別開(kāi)。這和increase by及increase to的區(qū)別一樣。 How can we bridge the gap from poverty to decent work? 注：又是一個(gè)很形象的表達(dá)方式，“縮小……的距離”。同樣的表達(dá)方式還可以說(shuō)narrow the gap between rich and poor。 Last year, more than 81 million young people were unemployed, the highest on record. 注：“歷年最高”的表達(dá)the highest on record。 Addressing the global jobs crisis is central to changing this picture – to defeating poverty, strengthening economies and building peaceful and stable societies. 注：addressing在這里不是“致辭”，而是“著手，處理，解決”。This picture在此處指“這種狀況，現(xiàn)狀”。 Widespread economic uncertainty and fiscal austerity should not be excuses to do less. Rather, they are reasons to do more. 注：rather“恰恰相反，與此相反”，在此處的用法值得我們學(xué)習(xí)并運(yùn)用。相似的表達(dá)方式還有on the contrary/in contrast。
