The Lady’s Slipper orchid is at the centre of a major security operation as cuttings can change hands for up to ￡5,000 among collectors.

玉女拖鞋蘭因?yàn)樗哂型闲瑯邮降拇桨?，被人們親切地稱為“拖鞋蘭”。它是英國最為稀有的花,據(jù)悉，拖鞋蘭在收藏者之間到手后可賣到5000英鎊每株的價(jià)格。

The huge operation includes increased patrols at the site at the Silverdale Golf Course in Carnfoth, Lancashire, and the 100-year-old orchid being tagged with a coded security mark. Extra security cameras may also be installed to monitor the plant 24 hours a day.

鑒于它的花期就在本月，英國西北部蘭開夏郡的Carnfoth增派了多名警察專門守護(hù)這株100多年歷史的花，此外攝像頭也很有可能會派上用場.

"The Lady’s Slipper orchid is an incredibly important plant, having survived for over 100 years when all other plants were thought extinct,"said PC Tony Marsh, beat manager for the area.

拖鞋蘭至今已有200多年的歷史，而其它的花均已滅絕.
