在上面這段話中，“rise to power”就是“上臺(tái)，掌權(quán)”的意思。

同時(shí)，我們也可以用“come into power”來表示。比如說：The new government will come into power next month. （新政府將在下月開始執(zhí)政。）

另一種說法是“come on the stage”，表示“登上政治舞臺(tái)”，值得注意的是，這個(gè)詞組同時(shí)還能表示“上場(chǎng)”。比如說：They applauded?their favorite comedienne as she came on the stage. （當(dāng)他們最喜歡的女喜劇演員登臺(tái)時(shí)，他們鼓掌歡迎。）
