Britain's Queen Elizabeth II has gone to New York for the first time in more than 30 years. She went to the United Nations' headquarters and paid her respects to the thousands who died in the attacks on September 11th.

30多年來(lái)，英國(guó)女王伊麗莎白二世首度造訪紐約。她訪問(wèn)了聯(lián)合國(guó)總部，并對(duì)“9.11”襲擊事件中的遇難者表示問(wèn)候。

The 84-year-old British monarch addressed the UN General Assembly and said the world has dramatically changed since her last visit to the global body in 1957. She praised the UN's aims and values. But, she says the world is still challenged by the achievement of the Millennium Development Goals. She also said about struggles against terrorism and climate change.

這位84歲的英國(guó)女王在聯(lián)合國(guó)大會(huì)上發(fā)表了講話。她說(shuō)，她上次來(lái)訪要追溯到1957年了，這期間，世界已發(fā)生了翻天覆地的變化。對(duì)于聯(lián)合國(guó)的宗旨和價(jià)值理念，伊麗莎白女王給予了充分的肯定。同時(shí)，她還表示，要達(dá)成千年發(fā)展計(jì)劃所設(shè)立的目標(biāo)，世界各國(guó)仍任重而道遠(yuǎn)。此外，她還提到，世界還需同恐怖主義和氣候變化做斗爭(zhēng)。

UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon described the queen as an anchor for our age. Her reign spans the decades from the challenges of the Cold War to the threat of global warming.

聯(lián)合國(guó)秘書(shū)長(zhǎng)潘基文稱女王為這個(gè)時(shí)代的中流砥柱。她在執(zhí)政的幾十年里經(jīng)歷了從冷戰(zhàn)到全球變暖的挑戰(zhàn)。

Afterwards, she visited the site of the World Trade Center, placing a wreath at the site of the attacks, and spent time with victims' families and aslo emergency workers.

此后，伊麗莎白女王又參觀了世貿(mào)中心遺址，在遭受恐怖襲擊的地點(diǎn)獻(xiàn)上了花圈，并親切慰問(wèn)了受害者家屬以及當(dāng)時(shí)在場(chǎng)的緊急救援人員。
