國(guó)慶第五天！這一天是虎虎的“家庭日”（family day）。滬江外教Alison老師遠(yuǎn)離家鄉(xiāng)（hometown），當(dāng)然也讓她加入到俺家的聚會(huì)中來(lái)，不讓她孤單。這么說(shuō)來(lái)國(guó)慶長(zhǎng)假不知不覺(jué)也有了中秋的意義：家人聚首、合家團(tuán)圓（family reunion）。這和美國(guó)也是一樣兒一樣兒噠！

【獨(dú)立日的家庭聚會(huì)】

The 4th of July is a popular time for families and friends to come together and share in the celebrations and the food. Because July is a summer month, the weather is perfect for cooking and eating outdoors. Barbeques are popular on the 4th, so families usually eat things like hot dogs, bratwursts and hamburgers. Cold vegetable and noodle salads, fruit salads and festive cakes and cupcakes are also very common side dishes. It is also common to have a “pot-luck” picnic, where the host prepares the meat on the grill and everyone brings a side dish big enough to share.

7月4日也通常是家人和朋友團(tuán)聚的日子，人們會(huì)聚在一起、分享美食。因?yàn)?月是夏天，氣候非常適合在戶外野炊和聚餐。燒烤在這一天很受歡迎。美國(guó)的家庭通常會(huì)吃熱狗、烤香腸和漢堡。涼拌面條蔬菜沙拉、水果沙拉、節(jié)日蛋糕和紙杯蛋糕也是常見(jiàn)的菜肴。人們還喜歡舉辦一種叫pot-luck的野餐會(huì)：由主人準(zhǔn)備烤肉、每個(gè)人再帶一些小菜來(lái)大家一起分享。
