? 1.當(dāng)賓語從句表示的是科學(xué)真理、客觀事實(shí)、格言或其他不受時(shí)間限制、影響的客觀存在的情況時(shí)。

例如:

? Long ago,people didn’t know that the earth moves round the sun.很久以前,人們不知道地球是圍繞著太陽運(yùn)行的。

? When she was a child,she knew that the Yellow River is the second biggest river in China.? 她從小就知道,黃河是中國第二大的河流。

? It was not until then that I came to know that knowledge comes from practice.? 從那以后,我才知道知識(shí)來自實(shí)踐。

? 如果賓語從句表示的是一個(gè)已被否定的過去的信念時(shí),謂語動(dòng)詞應(yīng)該用一般過去時(shí)。

例如:

? Ptolemy held that the sun went round the earth. 托勒密主張?zhí)柇h(huán)繞地球運(yùn)行。

? 2.當(dāng)賓語從句是用來表達(dá)、解釋科技內(nèi)容時(shí)。

例如:

? Our teacher told us that the attraction of the earth for all bodies is called gravity.? 老師告訴我們,地球?qū)σ磺形矬w的吸引力叫作萬有引力。

??3.當(dāng)賓語從句表示一種反復(fù)出現(xiàn)或現(xiàn)在習(xí)慣性動(dòng)作時(shí)。

例如:

? She told me that she gets up at six o’clock every morning.? 她告訴我她每天早上六點(diǎn)起床。

? He asked me when the train usually starts.? 他問我火車通常什么時(shí)候發(fā)出。

??4.當(dāng)賓語從句中謂語動(dòng)詞所表示的動(dòng)作在轉(zhuǎn)述時(shí)仍在繼續(xù),或表示現(xiàn)在時(shí)刻仍存在的狀態(tài)時(shí)。

例如:

? He said that the workers in that factory are trying to fulfill the task ahead of schedule.他說那家工廠的工人正在努力提前完成任務(wù)。

? She told me the other day that she is only 10. 幾天前她對(duì)我說她才10歲。

? This morning I visited some friends who are leaving for London tomorrow. 今天上午我拜訪了幾位明天動(dòng)身去倫敦的朋友。

??5.當(dāng)賓語從句中所表示的動(dòng)作在講話人講話時(shí)刻尚未發(fā)生時(shí),賓語從句可以不用過去將來時(shí),而用一般現(xiàn)在時(shí)表示。這時(shí)賓語從句強(qiáng)調(diào)該動(dòng)作或狀態(tài)與現(xiàn)在的聯(lián)系。

例如:

? He said he’ll be waiting for me this evening.? 他說他今晚等我。

? He said he will visit us when the weather is fine.? 他說天氣好時(shí),他將來看我們。

6.當(dāng)主句謂語動(dòng)詞是demand,require,suggest,recommend①等表示建議、意愿、要求或命令時(shí),賓語從句不因這些動(dòng)詞是過去時(shí)而受時(shí)間限制,仍可用動(dòng)詞原形。這是虛擬語氣在賓語從句中應(yīng)用的一種形式(還可用“should+動(dòng)詞原形”)。

例如:

? The chairman suggested that the meeting(should)be put off.? 主席建議延期舉行會(huì)議。

? The doctor insisted that Tom(should)give up smoking.? 大夫堅(jiān)持要湯姆戒煙。

?? to,must,dare等沒有過去式,它們可以用在主句謂語動(dòng)詞是過去時(shí)之后的賓語從句里。

例如:

? Mother said I ought to go to work at once.? 媽媽對(duì)我說,我應(yīng)立即去上班。

? He thought and thought,then decided he must try to be on the side of the winners.? 他想啊想,后來他決定要設(shè)法站在獲勝者一方。
