Pixar has sent us over the first poster and a brand new image from the highly-anticipated sequel Cars 2, which will be released in 2D and 3D theaters nationwide on May 24. The first photo below features Owen Wilson’s Lightning McQueen and Larry The Cable Guy’s Mater as they are zooming with explosions and planes behind them.



The story of Cars 2 sees Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson), his pit team and new pit boss Mater head around the world for the Race of Champions, which takes place in five different countries and involves the champions of different disciplines like Formula One and rally driving. But the road to the championship is filled with plenty of potholes, detours and hilarious surprises when Mater gets caught up in an intriguing adventure of his own: international espionage. Torn between assisting Lightning McQueen in the high-profile race and towing the line in a top-secret spy mission, Mater’s action-packed journey leads him on an explosive chase through the streets of Japan and Europe, trailed by his friends and watched by the whole world. Adding to the fast-paced fun is a colorful new all-car cast that includes secret agents, menacing villains and international racing competitors.


　　倍受矚目的皮克斯3D動畫大片《汽車總動員2》，一直被捂得密不透風(fēng)，這部耗資巨大、制作周期超長的電影，之前只公布了影片的三張概念設(shè)計圖，露出神秘的冰山一角。今日，皮克斯首次公布了一張正式劇照——汽車在賽道上一如既往地你爭我奪，但畫面中出現(xiàn)了新角色：一架長著眼睛的飛機在和他們較勁，在他們身后的不遠處，似乎是飛機引發(fā)了一場大爆炸，可見續(xù)集的故事將比上一集更加復(fù)雜。此外，從《汽車總動員2》新公布的先行海報來看，它突出了“全球”的概念，可見影片中的場景將更加豐富，并不像上集僅僅局限于美國的洲際公路了，這一次，汽車們將在全世界狂奔比賽，穿梭于英國倫敦、法國巴黎、日本東京等等，其銀幕視覺效果有望達到的新的高度。

　　《汽車總動員》第一部曾在2006年獲得了超過2.44億美元的美國本土票房，海外市場則收回了2.17億美元，該片當年還獲得了奧斯卡最佳動畫片提名，只可惜臨門一腳敗給了華納電影公司出品的《快樂的大腳》。至于失敗的原因，有人認為《快樂的大腳》當年因為使用的3D和IMAX技術(shù)而獲得了更多人的好感，此次《汽車總動員2》也開始追加投資，玩轉(zhuǎn)3D，不能不說是更大的生業(yè)野心使然。《汽車總動員2》一直被影迷認為是打破了皮克斯公司在宣傳環(huán)節(jié)中的傳統(tǒng)，有可能是歷史上最神秘的動畫長片。皮克斯對自己出品的動畫長片一向關(guān)懷有加，早早就會公布先行預(yù)告片，但《汽車總動員2》卻始終沒有有效信息發(fā)布，到今年夏天為止，影迷只看到了片名的Logo和一張藝術(shù)設(shè)計圖，讓人懷疑其是否陷入了制作困境，好在從今年的秋天開始，《汽車總動員2》的宣傳周期終于開始。

　　《汽車總動員2》暫定于2011年6月24日，在2D、3D和 IMAX 3D三條院線登陸。
