Subscribe = sub-（下）+ -scrib-（寫，詞源同scribe，script）+ -e（動(dòng)詞詞尾），即在合同下簽字，引申為“簽署、認(rèn)購(gòu)、贊成”。

Subscribe作不及物動(dòng)詞時(shí)，常見用法有subscribe to sth定期訂閱/捐款、同意贊成，subscribe for sth申購(gòu)（股份）、預(yù)訂，比如subscribe to this newspaper（訂閱這份報(bào)紙）、subscribed to the view贊同該觀點(diǎn)、subscribe for shares/bonds認(rèn)購(gòu)股票/公債。
