這些名詞均含有“火焰、烈火、光”之意。

: 指猛烈燃燒所發(fā)生強(qiáng)烈的光。

eg：Dry wood makes a good blaze. 干木燃起奪目的光焰。

: 指一條或多條火舌，多用復(fù)數(shù)形式，指由許多火舌構(gòu)成的大火。

eg：The candle flame flicked and went out. 燭火搖曳著，隨即熄滅了。

: 指搖曳的火焰。

eg：The match gave a last flare. 火柴發(fā)出最后的亮光。

: 指像冶煉鐵和鋼時(shí)發(fā)出的紅光。

eg：There was a dull red glow in the night sky above the steelworks. 夜晚煉鋼廠的上空閃著暗紅色的光。

: 指眩目的光。

eg：The glare of the headlights almost blinded us.汽車前燈耀眼的光使我們睜不開眼。

: 指突然發(fā)出而隨即消失的閃光。

eg：Flashes are not allowed to be used in this museum.這個(gè)博物館里不準(zhǔn)使用閃光燈。

r : 指連續(xù)發(fā)出閃爍不定的光。

eg：The child was attracted by the glitter of the Christmas tree decorations. 這孩子被圣誕樹上閃閃發(fā)光的裝飾品吸引住了。

e : 指如星光等的閃爍。

eg：The twinkle of distant town lights was very beautiful. 遠(yuǎn)處城鎮(zhèn)燈火閃爍，煞是好看。

: 普通用詞，指日、月、星或燈等的光。

eg：A dim light came from afar. 一縷暗淡的光線從遠(yuǎn)處射來。
