Motivate = mot-（移動）+ -ive-（形容詞詞尾，e略）+ -ate（動詞詞尾），引申為“促進、激勵”，同近義詞有drive。Motivate強調驅使人們采取行動的原因或動機。Drive側重外來的驅策力和內心感情力量的驅使。

Motivate的常見表達有motivate sb to do sth激勵某人做某事、motivate sth促使某事，比如motivate them to pursue their goals激勵他們追求目標、motivate the innovation of logistics service推動物流服務的創(chuàng)新。
