burden, cargo, load

這些名詞均有“負(fù)擔(dān)，負(fù)荷”之意。

burden : 指沉重、令人不快的負(fù)擔(dān)；指精神負(fù)擔(dān)時常有不堪忍受的意味。

eg：His invalid father is becoming a burden.他父親體弱多病, 對他來說漸漸成了累贅。

cargo : 指用輪船、車輛或飛機(jī)長距離運(yùn)載的貨物。

eg：The transportation bottleneck has blocked the movement of the cargo.運(yùn)輸?shù)睦щy阻塞了貨物的流通。

load : 普通用詞，含義廣泛，指人、畜、車、船等負(fù)載的東西，指精神負(fù)擔(dān)時，可與burden換用，但無感情色彩。

eg：The load on this beam is more than it will bear.橫梁上的負(fù)荷比它能承受的要大得多。
