As the situation in Libya??deteriorates, many countries have sent chartered flights, ships and buses to evacuate their nationals.

The Air China plane carried a joint task group of officials from several government ministries and emergency relief materials. Many Americans and Europeans have boarded flights, while North Africans have?fled over?land border crossings.

The nearby Mediterranean island of Malta has beeninundated?with people fleeing the unrest. Two Turkish ships took 3-thousand citizens, while Serbia sent a plane to return 130 of its citizens to Belgrade.

Spanish oil company Repsol evacuated 131 people, including 88 employees. Brazilian officials have also sent a ship to pick up some 180 of its citizens from Libya's eastern port city of Benghazi.
