中國(guó)成人文盲人數(shù)仍排世界前列

China, when gauged according to the numbers of its citizens who are illiterate adults, ranks as the eighth worst among ten sample countries selected from around the world, according to a report released by UNESCO on Tuesday.Around 72 percent of the illiterate adults in the world live in the ten countries, which were chosen from 128 countries, according to the report.
聯(lián)合國(guó)教科文組織本周二發(fā)布的一份報(bào)告稱,在全世界文盲率最高的十個(gè)國(guó)家中,中國(guó)的成人文盲數(shù)位列第八,這十個(gè)國(guó)家的成人文盲總數(shù)約占全世界文盲總數(shù)的72%。
"Although China has maintained strong progress toward universal adult literacy, its illiterate population is still one of the biggest in the world," Tang Qian, assistant director-general for the education sector under the UNESCO, told China Daily during a forum in Beijing on Tuesday.
中國(guó)近幾年在降低失學(xué)率方面取得了顯著進(jìn)步,但是不斷加大的城鄉(xiāng)教育差距同時(shí)也在阻礙整體教育水平的提高。
"China has the biggest educational system in the world and largest population among developing countries," he said. "So when China makes progress, the resulting statistics for the world are impressive."
中國(guó)擁有世界上最大的教育體系,同時(shí)還是人口最多的發(fā)展中國(guó)家,雖然中國(guó)一直致力于全民掃盲工作,但是成人文盲數(shù)量仍然在世界前列。
