The U.S. is no longer leading the military fight against Moammar Gadhafi's forces in Libya. NATO now has assumed command of all air operations. Meanwhile the U.S. has confirmed CIA operatives are on the ground there providing assistance.
Residents in central Mississippi are cleaning up after severe weather tore through the area. Trees are down, homes damaged and utility crews have been out making repairs. All this after storms with winds as high as 110 miles an hour struck the region, dumping golfball-sized hail and large amounts of rain.
Heavy rains in Thailand meant some American tourists had to be rescued. More than 700 Thai and foreign tourists were shipped or airlifted to safety off islands in southern Thailand today. Heavy flooding there has left at least 15 people dead.
And the the killer whale that drowned a female trainer last year at Orlando's seaworld has performed again. Trainers stood behind a steel U-shaped bar to prevent Tilikum from dragging them into the water. Since Dawn Brancheau's death, trainers have not been allowed in the water during performances.
