A risk fund which aims to help and assist those who do good deeds has been operating for more than six months. It provides free legal aid and compensation to people who offer a helping hand, but end up getting a bad rap.

The fund was established by a university professor from south China's Guangdong province. It's received over 40,000 Yuan in donations, while more than 60 lawyers have offered their services for free. The founder hopes the fund can encourage people to help elderly people in public places, by cushioning them from potential negative consequences.
