The things that I will not consider are a 30-day or a 60-day or a 90-day or a 180-day temporary stop gap resolution to this problem. This is the United States of America, and we don't manage our affairs in three-month increments. Our proud tradition of journalism, which for centuries has bravely held those in positions of power to account, was shaken by the revelation of what we now know to have happened at the News of the World. The perpetrators of those acts not only broke the law, they preyed on the grief of families who had lost loved ones either as a result of foul murders or giving their life for their country. I hope the law shows no mercy on those responsible and no mercy on any managers who condoned such appalling behavior. Wow, this is really gonna be big. All we can see was big cheeks.
