On their first day in the capital, Diana and Peter visited the Old Tower which stood on a hill near the city centre. There were stairs leading to the top, but Diana and Peter decided to take the lift. At the top there was a cafe and a balcony where visitors could stand and enjoy the view. It was magnificent -- you could see the whole city, the river and the hills beyond. On their way back from the Tower, Diana and Peter went past the main square in the city centre. They stopped at a stall to have some orange juice, and sat and watched the traffic for a while. The square was very busy, with cars, buses, bicycles and pedestrians going in all directions. In the centre of the square there was a policeman controlling the traffic.
戴安娜和彼特第一天游覽了首都市容，去了市中心附近小山上的古塔。古塔有樓梯直通塔頂，但戴安娜和彼特決定乘坐電梯。塔頂有一個(gè)咖啡廳和觀光平臺，游客可以俯瞰市容。這兒的景色很美麗——整座城市盡收眼底，還有遠(yuǎn)處的河流和群山。 在從古塔回來的路上，戴安娜和彼特游覽了市中心廣場。他們在一個(gè)小攤販前停下喝果汁，坐下小歇一會，觀賞街上的車水馬龍，廣場上小汽車、公共汽車、自行車和行人絡(luò)繹不絕，廣場中心一位警察在指揮交通。
