如果一個(gè)樂(lè)隊(duì)沒(méi)有在他們所存在的那個(gè)時(shí)代中體現(xiàn)出獨(dú)特的風(fēng)格，便沒(méi)有太多介紹的必要。畢竟每天都會(huì)有無(wú)數(shù)個(gè)新樂(lè)隊(duì)出現(xiàn)，如果每支樂(lè)隊(duì)都能得到500字的介紹，那不僅是給我們本來(lái)就爆炸了的信息時(shí)代火上澆油，同時(shí)也會(huì)讓音樂(lè)編輯們受不了稿費(fèi)的開(kāi)銷(xiāo)。因此，在介紹與不介紹的選擇之中，必然有一些沒(méi)能唱出特色的樂(lè)隊(duì)會(huì)遭到殘酷的淘汰。

Kasabian的四位成員均成長(zhǎng)于萊切斯特，17歲的時(shí)候，幾個(gè)人就在一起玩音樂(lè)。他們的名字源自六十年代末的連環(huán)殺手影片《Charlie Manson／Manson Family》中的一名女司機(jī)Linda Kasabian，樂(lè)隊(duì)希望透過(guò)其重復(fù)性的音樂(lè)元素，來(lái)表達(dá)出人們的瘋狂與暴力。

樂(lè)隊(duì)在接受采訪的時(shí)候曾坦言，Primal Scream激發(fā)了他們組隊(duì)的沖動(dòng)，并且覺(jué)得PS的音樂(lè)路線將在未來(lái)成為一個(gè)樂(lè)隊(duì)成功與否的藍(lán)本。但這并不是說(shuō)Kasabian就是另一隊(duì)PS。事實(shí)上，PS對(duì)他們的影響更多是做音樂(lè)時(shí)的意識(shí)，而不是具體到某一首歌或某一段旋律。因此，在他們首張同名專(zhuān)輯中，你可能只會(huì)在《Club Foot》中直接聽(tīng)出《Xtrmntr》時(shí)期的PS，而更多體會(huì)到的則是與他們一樣在音樂(lè)上的折衷與包容。

因此，在《Reason Is Treason》當(dāng)中，你聽(tīng)到的不僅僅是Neu！的流暢曲式，還能從中段的合成器演奏中感覺(jué)到Giorgio Moroder的存在。而《Processed Beats》中的Funk節(jié)拍又讓你覺(jué)得樂(lè)隊(duì)主唱Tom Meighan在用跑調(diào)的方式翻唱Beck的《Loser》。到了《L.S.F（Lost Souls Forever）》，讓人想起了前Verve主唱Richard Ashcroft為U.N.K.L.E獻(xiàn)唱的《Lonely Soul》，與原曲不同的是，這首歌更加Funky。

此外，為了更好的表現(xiàn)出迷幻的一面，他們還特意在音樂(lè)中加入了西塔琴，如嗓音和節(jié)拍都同Placebo有許多神似之處的《Running Battle》、在倒播技巧的運(yùn)用中，加入同早期Pink Floyd有著同樣音色之吉他演奏的《Test Transmission》、在走迷幻民謠路線的同時(shí)帶有異域色彩riff的《U Boat》和未來(lái)主義色彩合成器與重型Hip Hop節(jié)拍交相輝映的《I.D.》。

也許Kasabian并不是前無(wú)古人，但他們還是因?yàn)閷?duì)元素巧妙的混合而變得格外突出，這正如PS貝斯手所說(shuō)，“從Kasabian身上我確認(rèn)到一些在英倫音樂(lè)上失蹤了十年的東西”。
