Remember that cool short film, Archetype? If you don’t then go watch it here.

Directed by Aaron Sims it was an amazing piece of work on a very low budget and left me wanting more.

RL7 is an eight-foot tall combat robot that goes on the run after malfunctioning with vivid memories of once being human. As its creators and the military close in, RL7 battles its way to uncovering the shocking truth behind its mysterious visions and past.

The good news is we will be seeing more as it is going to be turned into a feature length movie.

John Davis, riding high off of the surprise success of the super-powered found-footage movie Chronicle, is going back to the world of robots.

The producer, who has a first-look deal at Fox and who produced 2004’s I, Robot, has picked up the rights to Archetype, a sci-fi short directed by Aaron Sims, with plans on developing it into a feature. David dipped into his discretionary fund in order to make the acquisition.

Sims will direct and Guy Busick and Ryan Murphy are writing the script.

Great news and I will be looking forward to seeing the full film.

一部制作精良的科幻短片《原型》（Archetype）在Youtube上剛放了不到兩個(gè)月就獲得了近50萬的點(diǎn)擊量，現(xiàn)在這部7分鐘的短片將被拍成長(zhǎng)片電影了。

這部短片講的是一個(gè)戰(zhàn)斗機(jī)器人RL7型忽然覺醒，有了人的記憶，認(rèn)為自己不是機(jī)器人而是人類，他能回憶其自己的家人，自己的過去。但設(shè)計(jì)制造它的人類則認(rèn)為這不過是一個(gè)故障所導(dǎo)致的。短片的特效非常出色，整個(gè)環(huán)境設(shè)定也很有特點(diǎn)，能拍成長(zhǎng)片，真令人期待。

《超能失控》的制片人約翰·戴維斯以及20世紀(jì)福斯公司準(zhǔn)備將短片拍成長(zhǎng)片電影。這個(gè)短片的原作者Aaron Sims在特效大神斯坦·溫斯頓的工作室里工作過很長(zhǎng)時(shí)間，參與過斯皮爾伯格的《人工智能》、《世界大戰(zhàn)》以及最近的《戰(zhàn)馬》還有《猩球崛起》等片的特效制作。而制片人約翰·戴維斯則對(duì)機(jī)器人、科幻題材情有獨(dú)鐘，曾制作過《我，機(jī)器人》、《未來水世界》、《鐵血戰(zhàn)士》等電影。

目前還不清楚這部影片的預(yù)算會(huì)有多少，希望這位從特效起家的Aaron Sims能成為第二個(gè)尼爾·布洛姆坎普（《第九區(qū)》的導(dǎo)演）！
