【知識點撥】

本期我們一起來學習兩個詞組：care for和in full。

care for

care for在這里表示“關心、照顧”。比如我們可以說：

Mary cares for her little sister very much. She always makes?lovely little toys for her to make her happy.
瑪麗很關心她的小妹妹，她總是為妹妹做可愛的小玩意來逗她開心。

Chinese authorities are trying to educate the youth about the need to care for their parents.
中國政府正努力教育年輕人明白關愛、贍養(yǎng)父母的必要性。

care for還可以表示“喜愛”，例如 ：

I don't care for green. I like red.
我對綠色不感冒，我喜歡紅色。

He didn't care for anything about Europe.
他一點也不喜歡歐洲。

第三種用法表示“想要”：

Would you care for some more tea?
你是不是還想要點茶?

in full

in full表示“完全地，徹底地”，常用在句末做狀語。如：

I paid the bill in full.
我付清了賬單。

name in full是“全名”的意思。

意思相近的詞組還有in whole，表示“完全地、全部地、整個地”，例如：

Therefore, these models are validated as predictive -- either in part or in whole.
因此，這些模型被確認具有可預測性——部分地或全部地。

相應地，in part可以表示“部分地、不完全地”：

I agree with you in part.
在一定程度上，我同意你的觀點。
