While some of us are merely guilty of perusing tabloids in the supermarket checkout aisle, others take their celebrity obsessions to a whole new level.

We certainly would never like to be in the same room as the person who bought Britney Spears' used gum for $14,000, a handful of Elvis Presley's hair for $115,000 or Justin Timberlake's half-eaten French toast for north of $3,000.

If we all could only be so lucky. Scarlett Johansson's used tissue sold for $5,300 in 2008. That's nothing to sneeze at!

Marilyn Monroe's bust has sold for a bundle.

A 1954 x-ray of the stunning starlet's chest sold at auction in Las Vegas on Sunday for a sizable $45,000. This was well above the estimated $800 to $1,200 it was expected to fetch.

"[The x-ray] was taken around the time she was believed to be pregnant and rumor has it that she had a miscarriage," President/CEO Darren Julien told the Daily News back in April.

The late musician's extracted molar is expected to fetch at least $16,000 when it hits the auction block next block next month at Omega Auctions, a UK-based auction house that handles music and movie memorabilia.

Lennon gave the tooth to his housekeeper, Dot Jarlett, sometime between 1964 and 1968, when she worked for the musician. Jarlett's son, Barry Jarlett, told the BBC that Lennon said: "Dot, will you dispose of this," then changed his mind, suggesting that since her daughter was a Beatles fan, "you can give it to her as a souvenir." The buyer of the tooth will also receive asworn legal affidavit attesting to the authenticity of the tooth and signed by Dot Jarlett.

The lock of hair on auction was taken 40 years ago from the corpse of Che Guevara, the famed revolutionary and cultural icon, by one of the men who had tracked him down and, after he was killed, buried him. In 2007, his hair sold for $100,000, the minimum bid.

On the eBay website an enterprising celebrity spotter is selling a jar of fresh air allegedly breathed by stars Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, for $US15,000.

"Be the first to own this jar of Celebrity air, which may contain air molecules that came in direct contact with Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt!!", read the seller's announcement on online auctioneer eBay.

DeGeneres put the locks up on eBay, and within the first hour, Bieber's hairs were already up to $10,000 in bids. The auction ended yesterday and helped raise $40,688 for the Gentle Barn, an animal rescue organization in Santa Clarita, Calif., which was chosen by DeGeneres.

One diehard fan of the singer bought Timberlake's leftover breakfast -- for an astounding $3,154. After a morning interview in 2000, a DJ at New York radio station Z-100 decided to place the N-Sync singer's breakfast up for auction. The winning bidder, who was a teenager at the time, told Z-100: ''I'll probably freeze-dry it, then seal it ... then put it on my dresser." No word 11 years later how the breakfast confection is holding up.
