China has successfully conducted flight landing tests on its first aircraft carrier, the Liaoning. According to naval sources, a new J-15 fighter jet was showcased during the exercise.

The J-15 is China's first multi-purpose carrier-borne fighter jet. The carrier’s landing platform and the J-15 met all compatibility requirements during the landing exercise.

Since construction finished in September, the aircraft carrier has undergone a series of tests relating to the ship’s sailing and technological capabilities.
