Copycat poses

Casey Grim, 24, and Adam McLaughlin, 34, from San Francisco, chose to be photographed by photographer friend Red Scott individually rather than together - but with the groom-to-be mirroring the pose and clothing in each image of of his future wife.

Taking it seriously

The resulting set of photos is hilarious. While Miss Grim looks beautiful in each of her frames, Mr McLaughlin lends some humor to each one by mimicking her seductive gazes.

One pair of photos shows the newly engaged couple staring at the camera with their arms crossed in front of their naked torsos and another sees them with their hands lifted to the ceiling with their midriffs on display. Mr McLaughlin even wears a bra in one shot, cupping a breast with one hand.

Miss Grim said her friends really enjoyed the photos and her mother 'adored' them, although her father was a little perturbed by the amount of flesh on display.

Mr McLaughlin popped the big question one evening while they were cooking dinner together. 'He comes up to me and casually gets on one knee and says, "I'm ready if you are!,"' Miss Grim recalled.

Common interests

Unlike most brides-to-be she did not take the opportunity to show off her engagement ring during the photo shoot and her fiance is seen posing with a band on his ring finger instead.

'I'm just lazy and forgot to put my ring back on after washing my hands!' she explained to commentators after she posted six pictures from the shoot to her Reddit account.

Spot the difference

They met at a stand-up comedy gig three years ago. 'I had a big crush on him for months but he was oblivious. We bonded over comic books and became inseparable,' Miss Grim told MailOnline.

There is no wedding date set as the couple are still in the planning process. But they wrote on Reddit that their engagement photos will be on display at their nuptials 'to make people uncomfortable.'
