Today is Dragon Boat festival in China, or Duanwu as it’s known in Chinese. The day has been celebrated for thousands of years.

The three traditional acitivities to mark the festival are preparing and eating Zongzi - a sticky rice dumpling wrapped in leaves, drinking realgar wine, and the main star of the show - racing dragon boats.

Since 2011, China has held a nationwide competition, which has teams racing from all over the country. It goes on for nearly 10 months from the start of the year.
