The (Farimont) Peace Hotel, dubbed the “Mansion in the East" when it opened in Shanghai more than 80 years ago as the Cathay Hotel, finally started its business in July, 2010 after being shut for three years. After a painstaking restoration of the hotel, the luxurious Art Deco masterpiece, which opened on the Bund in 1929 by British trader Victor Sassoon, then the richest man in the city, is ready to receive guests from around the world with a renewed grandeur and majesty.
和平飯店于80多年前建成并開(kāi)業(yè)，享譽(yù)遠(yuǎn)東，當(dāng)時(shí)稱，歷經(jīng)三年閉門后整修后，于2010年7月重新開(kāi)張營(yíng)業(yè)，現(xiàn)稱（費(fèi)爾蒙）和平飯店。 英籍商人維克多·沙遜在1929年和平飯店開(kāi)張時(shí)是當(dāng)時(shí)上海最富有的人。現(xiàn)和平飯店精心整修后，宛如豪華裝飾的藝術(shù)杰作，正以富麗宏偉的新資接受來(lái)自世界各地賓客的贊賞。
