吊蘭又稱垂盆草、桂蘭、鉤蘭、折鶴蘭，西歐又叫蜘蛛草或飛機(jī)草，原產(chǎn)于南非。屬百合科多年生常綠草本植物。根肉質(zhì)，葉細(xì)長，似蘭花。吊蘭葉腋中抽生出的匍匐莖，長可尺許，既剛且柔；莖頂端簇生的葉片，由盆沿向外下垂，隨風(fēng)飄動，形似展翅跳躍的仙鶴。故吊蘭古有折鶴蘭之稱。

Chlorophytum comosum, often called the spider plant, is a herbaceous plant. It is native to tropical and southern Africa, but has become naturalized in other parts of the world, including western Australia. Variegated forms in particular are used as house plants.
