??? 1974年出生于英國利物浦的Kathryn Williams首張專輯‘Dog Leap Stairs’發(fā)行于1999年，與2000年的‘Little Black Numbers’都由自創(chuàng)的CAW唱片公司出版。2002年才進入主流唱片公司發(fā)行‘Old Low Light’，所以‘Relations’已是她的第四張專輯。Kathryn喜歡聽一些六○年代的搖滾，且受Bob Dylan、Nina Simone、Tim Buckley、Van Morrison、Leonard Cohen、Velvet Underground、Nick Cave等藝人的影響，因此樂風屬于民謠，但并非英國傳統(tǒng)民謠，反而偏向美國的新民謠，像是早期Suzanne Vega的風格；另外國外媒體也多將作曲家兼歌手的Kathryn與才華洋溢的Joni Mitchell比較。受這么多前輩的啟發(fā)，Kathryn決定制作一張老歌新唱的專輯，‘Relations’于焉誕生，不過取材不局限于六○年代的歌曲或民謠，原唱或原作者有些是大家耳熟能詳，例如尼爾揚、Leonard Cohen，還有比吉斯、Velvet Underground、超脫…等團體，但是翻唱的歌很少是這些藝人的流行排行曲；還有些更是非主流團及歌手，像Pavement、Ivor Cutler…。CD內(nèi)頁里Kathryn詳細地解說了每首歌從選曲到演唱的心情，除讓聽者對這些歌的背景有所了解，她干凈的嗓音呈現(xiàn)了與原曲不同的風格，更是整張專輯獨特之處，仿佛是現(xiàn)今一片嘻哈、電子聲中的一股清流。（摘自網(wǎng)絡(luò)）
