Good news, "The Walking Dead" fans: AMC announced that the forthcoming companion series is picked up for the first two seasons. Even better news: They can get a first look at the show in the above photo, newly released by AMC.

Considering the show has only shot its pilot, the two-season pickup is a pretty big sign of confidence. Like "The Walking Dead's" first season, the untitled new spinoff will premiere with a six-episode Season 1, which will premiere in late summer 2015. Season 2 will air in 2016.

The series will be something of a prequel, as it's set in Los Angeles around the time that the zombie apocalypse first hit. "The Walking Dead," meanwhile, had a time jump in its first episode to several months into the crisis after most people had been turned.
