There's an old saying that dogs are man's best friend, but in Beth Mancuso's house it's cats that are the ultimate furry pals.?

After witnessing the charming bond between her three young sons and their two Ragdoll cats, the Minnesota-based photographer decided to start capturing poignant moments of them together.?

Now, Ms Mancuso's images have formed an ongoing series called 'A Boy and His Cats', with the extensive collection reflecting the loving relationship between humans and their pets.

Each of the boys enjoy drawing cats, making cat toys and each has a stuffed Grumpy Cat - an internet star known for his apparent frowning facial expression.
孩子們都喜歡畫貓、做貓玩具，每人都有一個不爽貓玩偶(不爽貓：一只表情一臉不爽的網(wǎng)絡(luò)紅貓）。

Ms Mancuso decided to document her children's bond with their furry feline friends when they were two, five and eight years old.

'Cats aren’t always the easiest animals to love,' Ms Mancuso said of her project.

'Anyone can love a dog, but loving cats takes patience and compassion, and it is my hope that my boys are learning both these things from our beloved cats.'

Lucy was the first fluffy pal to arrive at the Mancuso's home two years ago, and after a year they took in Irie, her half sister.

The compositions are a mixture of real-life instances (often shot with her iPhone) and photos that Ms Mancuso directs.

Each of Ms Mancuso's boys has a different relationship with the cats. She said her oldest son is the most obsessed and at night, he even tries to smuggle them into his bedroom

'They're gentle creatures, offering companionship when the kids are playing, exploring the outdoors, or quietly reading a book,' said?Ms Mancuso.
“它們都很溫順。當(dāng)孩子們在玩耍、出門或者安靜讀書的時候，貓咪都會陪伴著他們，”曼庫索女士說道。

The bond between the young boys and their feline friends is clear to see through the heart-warming images.

Of the family's love for the four-legged beasts, Ms Mancuso said:?'We couldn't have asked for better cats.
作為貓癡家庭的一份子，曼庫索女士說：“它們已經(jīng)是最好的貓咪了?！?/div>

She intends to continue with the heart-warming project until her sons grow up and leave home.
她打算繼續(xù)這個暖心的計劃，直到他的兒子都長大離家。

'I have loved how this project came together. I love that I can look at the images and see them physically change, and that it tells the story of our family,' she said.?

'It is my hope that this project brings people as much joy as it has brought me.'??
