Prince William has completed his training as a pilot with the East Anglian Air Ambulanceand had his first day on his crew at Cambridge Airport on last Monday. He will fly patients in serious condition to the hospital.

It’s a new career for the prince, who admitted he was already very busy with his responsibilities as a member of the royal family and as a father with two young children. William and his wife, Catherine, Duchess of Cambridge, attended the christening of their baby Charlotte at St. Mary Magdalene Church in Sandringham on July 5. The couple also has a son named George who will turn 2 on July 22.

“It’s been obviously fantastic and she’s been a little joy of heaven, but at the same time it is more responsibility looking after two little ones, especially when George is around,” he said in an interview. “He’s a little monkey, but it’s fantastic having the love of a family and I’m so thrilled and Catherine has been doing an amazing job as a mother and I’m very proud of her.”

Juggling workand the royal side of his life, which he said may have more responsibility down the line, has been a challenge, but he said it's been worth it.

The former helicopter pilot with the Royal Air Force completed a civilian pilot course in September and said espite his royal status, he plans to follow through with a career in aviation.

"Doing a job like this is worthwhile, valuable, and there's an element of duty about it," he said, adding he was a little nervous to start his new job.
