"Frequent migration across borders, driven by the country's rapid economic growth, is a major reason behind the growing number ofmixed marriages," Xu said.

報(bào)道稱，去年我國(guó)登記的跨國(guó)婚姻有6萬8千對(duì)，比2005年多4千對(duì)。跨國(guó)婚姻增多的主要原因是我國(guó)經(jīng)濟(jì)高速發(fā)展所帶來的頻繁移民。

這里的“mixed marriage”指的就是“跨國(guó)婚姻”?！癕ixed”是“混合的”意思，“跨國(guó)婚姻”也就是兩個(gè)不同國(guó)家、不同民族的人的聯(lián)姻。常見的與“mixed”組成的合成詞還有：“mixed blood”(混血兒)、“mixed economy”(混合經(jīng)濟(jì))和“mixed salad”(什錦沙拉)。

此外，還可以用“interracial marriages” 來表示跨國(guó)婚姻。
