Boney M前西德的 Boney M 迪斯科演唱組是70 - 80年代非常成功和重要的迪斯科演唱組合之一，代表作有Rivers Of Babylon, Brown Girl In The Ring等。Boney M 在德國(guó)的第一次亮相是在1976年的一臺(tái)最重要、最著名的電視表演秀“Musikladen”中演唱了歌曲《爸爸真酷》。自那以后，Boney M 的周單曲銷(xiāo)量高達(dá)十萬(wàn)張。
前西德的 Boney M 演唱組是70 - 80年代非常引人矚目的一個(gè)迪斯科節(jié)奏的流行演唱組，樂(lè)隊(duì)成員來(lái)自四面八方，有的來(lái)自西印度群島，有的來(lái)自牙買(mǎi)加。制作人是弗朗可.菲林(Frank Farian)。
提到 Boney M，你可能會(huì)陌生，但是說(shuō)起《巴比倫河》，它的旋律你一定能哼上一兩句。這首歌引領(lǐng)了1970年代末中國(guó)青年一代的“時(shí)尚旋風(fēng)”，啟蒙了那個(gè)時(shí)代的“喇叭褲舞會(huì)文化”。
1977年他們以一曲“Daddy Cool”紅極一時(shí)，從歐洲演出到美國(guó)。由于他們身上特有的迪斯科韻味，又正好趕上當(dāng)時(shí)美國(guó)風(fēng)行迪斯科熱潮，因而大受歡迎。他們擅長(zhǎng)將一些老歌改編成迪斯科節(jié)奏的舞曲，而給他們改編的老歌總是別具一格，重放異彩，一下成為熱門(mén)歌曲，令歌迷拍案叫絕。
