Yet another optical illusion has popped up on the internet proving how little we know about how our brains work. These two hearts in the image appear to be totally different colours. One appears purple while the other is a bright orangey red.However, the two shapes are in fact exactly the same hue - a vivid pink.

These surrounding blue bars make the heart seem purple while these surrounding green bars make the heart appear orange.
