1) It is a traditional practice to...in our society.
在我們的社會(huì)里…是一個(gè)傳統(tǒng)的做法。 (e.g. It is a traditional practice for young people to be financially dependent on their parents for anything like marriage and housing.)
例：象婚姻和住房這些方面，年輕人在經(jīng)濟(jì)上依賴于他們的父母，是屬于傳統(tǒng)的做法。

2) It has long been considered only right and proper to...(in China.)
（在中國）…長期以來被視為是理所應(yīng)該的。 (e.g. It has long been considered only right and proper/perfectly justified for the old to assume full responsibility for the growth of the young.)
例：上一代為下一代的成長承擔(dān)完全的責(zé)任，長期以來被視為是理所應(yīng)該的（完全合理的）

3) As things usually go against sb.'s will, his original intention was to...
往往事與愿違，他本來的目的是要…(e.g. As things usually go against man's will, his original intention was to change the way people lived by inventing the internal combustion engine. Indeed, its birth has greatly enhanced their enjoyment of life, especially in traveling and transporting. But its dark side is presenting a growing worry to our society.)
例：往往事與愿違，他本來的目的是要通過發(fā)明內(nèi)燃發(fā)動(dòng)機(jī)來改變?nèi)藗兊纳罘绞健＿@種內(nèi) 燃機(jī)的誕生確實(shí)大大地方便了人們的生活，尤其是旅行和運(yùn)輸。但其不利的一面卻給我們社會(huì)帶來了越來越多的憂慮。

4) The current situation of..., if approached from the opposite angle, reveals that...
如果從對立的角度來看, …的當(dāng)前形勢顯示… (e.g. The current situation of our reforms is political structure, if approached from the opposite angle, reveals that much of the achievement is far from satisfactory. For example,...But...)
例：如果從對立的角度來看，政治體制改革的當(dāng)前形勢顯示，其成就遠(yuǎn)不如人意。例如…，但是…

5) Everything about...seems (not) to be getting on smoothly/just as one wishes in...
關(guān)于…似乎一切進(jìn)展順利（正如某人的意愿發(fā)展）。(e.g. Everything about the economic reform seems to be getting on just as our government wishes in China.)
例：中國經(jīng)濟(jì)改革的形勢似乎正朝著政府所期望的方向發(fā)展。

6) To sb.'s mind/In sb.'s eye(s), sth. seems/means...
在某人看來，某事似乎（意味著）…(e.g. In the eyes of the public, official corruption means taking bribes,. ..But such corruption comes in many different forms.)
例：在公眾的眼里，官員腐敗意味著收受賄賂，…但腐敗卻以許多不同的形式出現(xiàn)。

7) No one would deny that...
沒有人會(huì)否認(rèn)… 或：Everyone would agree that...或：…，這一點(diǎn)毫無異議。

8) When it comes to...(sth.), most people (the public) maintain(s)/contend(s) that...
說到…，大多數(shù)人（公眾）堅(jiān)持認(rèn)為（爭辯說）…(e.g. When it comes to fake commodities, every consumer has much anger to pour upon them.)
例：說到假貨，每一個(gè)消費(fèi)者對他們都有一通怒氣要發(fā)泄。

9) Now it is widely believed that...
現(xiàn)在人們普遍認(rèn)為… (e.g. Now it is widely believed that examinations are the best possible measure for the selection of the qualified.)
例：現(xiàn)在人們普遍認(rèn)為，各種考試是選拔合格人才的最佳手段。

10) A public debate has arisen as to/over/concerning...
關(guān)于…公眾就此展開了一場辯論。 (e.g. A public debate has arisen as to whether one should step forward bravely in the event of crime.)
例：當(dāng)有人犯罪時(shí)，一個(gè)人是否應(yīng)當(dāng)勇敢地站出來制止，公眾就此展開了一場討論。?
