The chain is selling green and red buns in its Chinese outlets to honour the upcoming Angry Birds film.

One unimpressed customer posted on Facebook: 'This is usually the colour an uneaten Macdonalds burger looks the morning after a session anyway!'

Brian Ashcroft wrote : 'Green is not exactly the color I’m eager to see in bread,' before adding, 'It doesn’t look bad. But I’d be expecting a matching flavour with that colour, and be disappointed when I find out it’s just green food colouring.'
