While waiting in line for his turn to make his food order, Doug kept an eye on his target, Club 1997, across the street. From his position in line, Doug had a clear view of the back alleyway of the club. He knew that the club manager was inside the building because the manager's car could be seen parked in the alleyway near the fire exit of the club. Doug adjusted his cap and stuck his hands in his pockets, and he took note of the people lined up in front and behind him.
