一、The Key Question You Should Ask
必問的關鍵問題
Towards the end of your interview you should have asked the key question about what happens next. Something like “How soon will you make a decision on whom you plan to hire?” This will have given you a time frame1; you want to appear enthusiastic but not annoying. If they expect to make a decision within the next week, you need to follow up in a couple of days; for a longer time it is best to wait a week.
應聘者一定要在面試結束前詢問面試官接下來的安排,比如:什么時候會給你答復。一般情況下,面試官都會給你一個時間期限,這樣你就能做到心中有數(shù)。如果面試官承諾在一周之內給你答復,那你就可以在接下來的時間里耐心等待并繼續(xù)跟進了。
二、Sending a Thank-You Note
發(fā)一封感謝信
One thing you should do, immediately after the interview, is sending a thank-you email or letter. Send it the same day or, at the latest, on the following day to the person or persons who interviewed you; remember to ask for business cards before you leave the interview. It is a good idea to do this even if the job doesn’t really interest you.
在面試一結束(最好在24小時之內),就要給面試官發(fā)一封感謝信或電子郵件。在你面試結束之前,記得要一張名片。之所以這樣做,一方面可以表示你對面試官的感謝,使面試官提升對你的印象與好感;另一方面你可以借此機會重申一遍為什么想要這份工作。
三、Follow-up Phone Call
跟進電話
Your follow-up phone call depends on the time frame you deduced from your interview question. Let’s say five days after the interview you decide to call. Ask to speak with the person who interviewed you. You should be polite and professional, restate your interest in the position but don’t sound desperate! Ask if they need any further information .
如何打電話跟進面試結果也是一門學問。選擇打電話的時機取決于我們上文提到的關鍵問題。如果面試官說一周之內給你答復,那么我們建議你可以選擇五天之后打電話詢問結果。此外,在電話中要禮貌的重申你對這份工作的渴望,但是不要用很絕望的語氣。并要盡可能地提供關于自己更多的信息。
